DO YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR CLOTHES COME FROM?

This simple quiz was part of a series for our Across Women's Lives vertical called "Wear and Tear."

The idea was to give users more information about the clothes literally on their backs. We used three different datasets to evaluate clothing. First, we look at the brand; then the country of origin; then the material itself.

For the brand information, we partnered with an Australian company called Good On You, which has created an app with brand information for several thousand companies and grades these companies on transparency policies and environmental responsibility.

We used ILO wage data to show the average wage of garment workers in each country.

For materials, I interviewed experts and we created grades based on sustainability and water use.

The end result is a quick interactive, which was successful for users. About two-thirds of people who visited the quiz, finished it.
